In 2002 Saybia was A-ha's support act during the German leg of their Lifelines tour. We had already seen them in Oslo during the Afternoon High, the world tour kick off and had really liked them. When I saw them again in Oberhausen, they were even better! So when they came to Utrecht for a whole concert, we just had to go. Unfortunately, the singer lost his voice, hours before the concert would start, but they came back a month later, so here are some pictures. For more information about Saybia check out this website.

We first saw the Bombfunk MC's in the Zillion in Antwerp (March 2000) where A-ha also performed. Contrary to all other bands there, they played live and they did that very well. The next day we had just picked up the pictures from the night before when we saw some members of the Bombfunk MC's standing outside the Hilton hotel in Antwerp. We quickly went to buy a pen and then back to ask them for some autographs on the pictures we'd taken of them. They were so delighted with the pictures of their own performance, that we decided to give them away. In exchange, we received a promotional postcard which all members signed! They were really great guys.
The only Dutch band on this page, Krezip, also played at a venue I went to to see A-ha (April 2000), this time in Tilburg and they too were the only band playing live. This was just before their breakthrough in the Netherlands and I was really impressed with the way these youngsters sounded. Later we went to see a full concert of theirs in Vredenburg Utrecht (where A-ha was to play in 2002, but little did I know then ;-) Krezip are a great live band and I can't wait for their next album!
Last but not least is Briskeby, who toured with A-ha in Germay in 2000 where they did a great job opening for A-ha at all three concerts I visited. At the last concert they returned to the stage to play Take On Me with A-ha as a closing song. Briskeby is a powerfull rock band that is best heard live.
